Qualified appraisers generally charge about $350.00 per hour. We currently charge $149 for a written appraisal for insurance purposes. We can also provide instant verbal telephone appraisals for $75. Most credit cards gladly accepted.

APPRAISAL QUALIFICATIONS

For twenty-eight years Charles Sherman has been an active member of the Los Angeles art community. He is an expert and has been called upon to be a consultant for fine in art litigation.

He has served on the board of the Graphic Arts Council at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the boards of many other arts organizations including Los Angeles Artist Equity Association and Visual Artists Guild.

Sherman's experience in the arts gives him unmatched expertise in the field of fine art appraisal. He has worked for galleries, private dealers and numerous insurance companies giving fine art appraisals of the twentieth century and old masters. In addition, his research capabilities allow him to find information on many lesser-known and contemporary artists. He has a reputation as an art sleuth as he has uncovered art frauds and recovered stolen art.

He has given talks on art law to students at Pepperdine University and lectured on various topics concerning art and the business of art. Sherman worked for six years on Rodeo Drive as a Senior Art Consultant and continues to be a private art dealer.

An award winning artist, Sherman has worked in the media of painting, printmaking and sculpture, and has an expert knowledge of art history.
